A free tool by ScreenKite
Free App Store screenshot maker
Make App Store screenshots at the correct size for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The free in-browser maker on this site is coming soon. Today, ScreenKite for Mac has the full App Store screenshot tool.
What makes a good App Store screenshot
Use the correct size
Upload 6.9" iPhone screenshots (for example 1320 × 2868) and 13" iPad screenshots (for example 2064 × 2752). App Store Connect scales them for smaller displays.
Put your best screen first
Search results show only the first screenshots. Use them for the main reason to install your app.
One message per screenshot
Write a short caption with large text. People read it on a phone, often in one second.
Show the real app
Show real app screens in a device frame or full bleed. Do not show features that the app does not have.
Keep one visual style
Use the same font, colors, and layout on all screenshots, so the set looks like one story.
Export without transparency
Apple accepts JPEG or PNG without an alpha channel. Use a solid background color.

- What size should App Store screenshots be in 2026?
- For iPhone, use the 6.9-inch size: 1320 × 2868, 1290 × 2796, or 1260 × 2736 pixels in portrait. For iPad, use the 13-inch size: 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 pixels in portrait. App Store Connect scales these for smaller displays. The full table is on the screenkit.org sizes page.
- How many App Store screenshots can I upload?
- Apple accepts 1 to 10 screenshots in .jpeg, .jpg, or .png format.
- Can App Store screenshots have a transparent background?
- No. Apple does not accept images with alpha channels or transparency. Export with a solid background.
- Do I need screenshots for every iPhone size?
